Additionally analysts expect online sales to continue to grow as a share of overall retail sales, driving growth in the number of goods that would need to navigate the complexities of the last mile. 3 This could put pressure on the last-mile providers to move an increasing volume of goods through the network. Maintenant, on sait. On rappelle que le jeu est disponible sur PS4 depuis le 19 juin dernier, et que notre test se trouve à cette adresse.

The Last Of Us Part II’s safe codes constitute some of the game’s most intricate puzzles, and can be difficult to figure out even for the most trained collectible sleuths out there. Fortunately for you, dear reader, I’ve been playing and noting down these codes as I go. In this article are hints and solutions that’ll hopefully lead you towards the all-important Safecracker trophy and the lovely loot hiding within each of these secure you’re just jumping into The Last Of Us Part II at launch and wish to figure out the locations and codes behind every safe in the game, read on to learn how to crack them!Spoiler alert Given that I’m touching upon every safe in the game, this article will span the entire plot of The Last Of Us Part II and inevitably reveal locations, set pieces and characters that you might not want to see if you’re just starting out. The game’s unusual structure makes guides very tricky – just know that if you’re cracking safes as you push through the campaign, please scroll with caution, and be very careful peeking in the second half of the article. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!In the accessibility menu of The Last Of Us Part II you can turn on a feature called Advanced Listen Mode. Once activated, press R1 + Circle and Ellie will ping her surroundings to find items and artefacts. If you’re a completionist I recommend you turn this on – it’s a good method to find safes and the collectibles which point you towards the codes that will crack 1 Jackson, PatrolLocation In the first chapter of the game when you’re with Dina in Wyoming. After embarking on a patrol, you’ll enter a supermarket that’s positively filled with dangerous Cordyceps spores. Once you’ve both pulled your gas masks on, head to the right and push through this new area until you find a cafeteria with a side door you can open. The safe seen featured above is in here, but you need a code. Solution The solution to this safe is quite easy to find. All you have to do is read the collectible letter on the table in the room with the safe. It will tell you that the code corresponds to the year when the writer’s dog got employee of the month at the supermarket. Sounds wild, I know, but follow your nose and head out the door, and back towards the way you came in. On the wall to your right will be a display of the employee of the month pictures. Find the odd one out and you’ll notice it says July 2013. July corresponds to 07’ in numeric terms, so the code is as below. Code 07-20-132Safe 2, Seattle Day 1, Downtown Credit Jordan Oloman Location When you’re riding your horse into downtown Seattle at the start of this section, hang left and follow the leftmost wall until you reach a little alcove you can crawl into to reach an overgrown bank from the old world which is full of clickers. It’s a nightmare… but once you’ve killed every zombie, head over to the far corner of the room and into the Safety Deposit’ area to find the bank vault, which requires a code to open. Solution On one of the corpses near the vault, there will be a collectible called Bank Heist Plans’ which talks about when the guards change, but more importantly, gives you the vault code so you can get inside. Code 60-23-063Safe 3, Seattle Day 1, Downtown Credit Jordan Oloman Location Head to the back of the open-world area in downtown Seattle to find this safe. It’s in an alcove to the right of the synagogue domed building past the checkpoint you need to climb over. Alternatively, face the courthouse and turn around. You’ll know you’ve found it when you see an overturned car and a sign for Gate West 2. Solution In this little cubby, there’s a safe on your right you can unlock using the Checkpoint Gate Codes’ note you have to pick up as part of the story in The Gate section just prior to the Downtown part of the game. The note will tell you that the Gate West 2 code is 0451, which is a cheeky Deus Ex reference Google it!. Code 04-514Safe 4, Seattle Day 1, Downtown Image Jordan Oloman Location This one isn’t hard to miss as it’s not located in an optional location. When you end up in the bottom floor of the courthouse you’ll stumble upon dead security guards and enter a police lockup. There’s a safe in here under a desk near the window. Solution All you have to do here is turn around from the safe and look at the whiteboard. The code is written on there for everyone to see! Code 86-07-225Safe 5, Seattle Day 1, Capitol Hill Image Jordan Oloman Location In the area where you stumble into a gym and are introduced to proximity mines after discovering Tommy’s horse, there’s a furniture shop you can enter. If you push through here you’ll know you’ve found the safe when you have a… curb-stomp flavoured run-in with a Clicker. In this room, there’s a safe. Solution The collectible on the noticeboard outside will tell you that you need the last five digit of Staci’s phone number. These are scrawled on the wall in the bathroom to the left of the board, next to the vending machine. Code 55-01-336Safe ?, Seattle Day 1, The Tunnels Credit Jordan Oloman Location I know this isn’t really a safe, but it makes sense to list it here as it’s certainly part of the same puzzle category! After you have your run-in with the no-good Shamblers in The Tunnels underneath Seattle, you’ll be allowed a short breather in a maintenance tunnel with a number of side rooms. If you find the room with a caged door, it’s to your left and through. In here you’ll find a locked door that needs a code to enter. Solution So this one is a little tricky, and I’m not too sure where the final piece of the puzzle is as I brute-forced it myself. On the table, there’s a clip of a paper that informs you about the code, but what you really want is a can from the vending machine right next to it which has the code attached. It only gives you the first three numbers 152, but once you’ve punched in the code into the aforementioned door, the game will guide your hand to choose four and then three to solve the puzzle. Code 152437Safe 6, Seattle Day 2, Hillcrest Image Jordan Oloman Location When you start the Hillcrest section of the game, you’ll arrive at a long street with a liquor store and a number of other businesses. There’s an alley behind the left row of shops spot the tattoo parlour and head through the back to find it and in the far corner in the top left there’s a green safe in a disconnected room where uh… actually, we’ll let you figure out what happens when you try to head in there. Solution Walk across the road from the tattoo parlour to the right side of the street and check the names of these shops until you find the pet food store and head in there. Walk around to the back through the bar and there’s a note on the left wall in the kitchen. This will tell you the code for the safe back on the other side of the street. Code 30-82-658Safe 7, Seattle Day 2, The Seraphites Image Jordan Oloman Location On your way to the hospital, you’ll see a truck on your left that you can climb onto to get into an apartment after hopping up some girders. Once inside, head left to use the workbench no further comment from me!. As soon as that’s wrapped up, head through the apartment and into a white door at the other end of the room where you’ll finda bedroom with a safe. Solution To solve this one, you need to figure out the wedding date of the couple who lived in this now-abandoned house. This seems quite tricky at first, but in the same room as the safe, there’s a calendar on the other side of the bed that’ll give you the date 10/08/13. Now, take 30 years from that, and you’ve got… Code 10-08-839Safe 8, Seattle Day 2, The Seraphites Image Jordan Oloman Location Still on the way to the hospital, there’s a section where you start swimming in a broken road, if you hang left and climb out there’s an elevated section with a supermarket called Weston’s that you can enter. Near the counter, go prone and crawl underneath into the section with the safe. Solution The code is behind the pharmacy counter outside of the room, and will tell you everything you need to know to crack this safe. Code 38-55-2310Safe 9, Seattle Day 3, The Flooded City Image Jordan Oloman Location When you get the boat in Seattle Day 3 during The Flooded City segment, there’s a section where you’ll drop down a mini waterfall and pass a forklift before the game forces you to get out to open a gate. Instead of doing that, head to the left of this flooded room to go up the stairs, then crawl under the debris in the far right corner and drop from above into the caged room with the safe in it. Solution The note with the code on it is to the left at the top of the stairs from the flooded room we told you to head up. Once you’ve got it, climb through the debris, drop down and crack the safe. Code 70-12-64 Spoiler alert We warned you, don’t go past this point if you want to stay in the dark about this game’s unusually structured plot. Only return once you find another safe after Safe 9, please!11Safe 10, Seattle Day 1, On Foot Image Jordan Oloman Location After you leap across the hanging boat and end up outside using the hatch, drop down and you’ll see a trailer. Towards the trainyard, you’ll see a crack in a concrete wall you can slip through to find a safe. Solution Go back to the trailer and smash one of the windows with a bottle and climb in. On the corkboard, there’s a pinned lottery ticket with a circled number, which the owners call “the big win” in a note in the trailer. This is your code! Code 17-38-0712Safe 11, Seattle Day 1, Hostile Territory Image Jordan Oloman Location When you reach the alley full of shops after leaving Manny, look to your left for a store called Jasmine Bakery. Head in by smashing the window and the safe is hidden behind the counter at the back. Solution To solve this puzzle, progress through the shop section until you have to leap to the other side of the street. Once you’ve done that, there’s a note in the shop to the left atop some boxes, which will give you the code. Code 68-96-8913Safe 12, Seattle Day 1, The Coast Image Jordan Oloman Location When Abby makes it to the boat, you’ll eventually head up to the second floor, what’s known as the Sun Deck. As soon as you make it up there, turn around, and you’ll find a safe in the room behind you. Solution You get the code for this safe at the end of the hallway where you pick up the crossbow. The game doesn’t really suggest that you should head down there, but clean it out with your bolts and go grab the note at the end for the code. Code 90-77-0114Safe 13, Seattle Day 2, The Shortcut Image Jordan Oloman Location When you’re heading to the hospital with Lev, you’ll pass through an apartment with a large number of rooms and a table in the middle which includes a conversation between the people trapped in the different rooms and a whiteboard. Turn around from the whiteboard and enter the room behind you for the safe. Solution The code for this safe is a combination of two apartment numbers, as noted in the Neighbor Exchange sheet you can find on the table in the thoroughfare. Head out of the complex and turn left to see the number of the apartment that is missing from the sheet, which is 304. Code 30-23-0415Safe 14, Seattle Day 2, The Descent Image Jordan Oloman Location After you fall into a pool with Lev, you’ll enter a gym. Push through until you hit a back wall, and enter the furthest room to the left, or the other side of the hall from the juice bar don’t enter the middle door as you will progress the plot – you should find yourself in a storage cupboard with a safe in it. Solution Head back into the gym area from this room and look at the wall to your left, you should see that there’s a plaque to tell people in the gym the WiFi code. Well, it turns out that the WiFi code is also the solution to the safe! Code 12-18-79 And with that, you’ve unlocked every safe in the game and the Safecracker trophy should pop imminently, pushing you one step closer to the Platinum. Congratulations! How to stop global warming? Global warming is likely to be the greatest threat of the 21st century. Find out its causes and effects, but most importantly the solutions to prevent climate change. Climate experts are formal the Earth is warming up at a steady pace. The reason for this is the increase in human-caused greenhouse gases, which has led to health, ecological and humanitarian crises. Despite this, the fight against climate change is a real opportunity to transition to a low carbon society, creating jobs, innovation and social justice locally and internationally. What is the meaning of global warming? What are the causes of global warming and its consequences? And finally what are the possible solutions? 01. Solutions Global warming solutions The Solar Impulse Label is granted to innovative solutions to global warming that meet high standards of sustainability and profitability. Each solution goes through a strict assessment process performed by independent experts. 02. Contribute What can you do? Global warming is a phenomenon of climate change characterized by a general increase in average temperatures of the Earth, which modifies the weather balances and ecosystems for a long time. It is directly linked to the increase of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere, worsening the greenhouse effect. Photo by Wolf Schram on Unsplash In fact, the average temperature of the planet has increased by Celsius Fahrenheit compared to the end of the 19th century. Each of the last three decades has been warmer than all previous decades since the beginning of the statistical surveys in 1850. At the pace of current CO2 emissions, scientists expect an increase of between and to in average temperature by 2100. If no action is taken, it would have harmful consequences to humanity and the biosphere. 04. Causes Global warming causes The greenhouse effect is a natural phenomenon. However, the increase in greenhouse gases is linked to human activities. It is thus no surprise that the world's leading climate scientists believe that human activities are very likely the main cause of global warming since the mid-twentieth century, mostly because of Photo by Skeeze on Pixabay Fossil fuels The massive use of fossil fuels is obviously the first source of global warming, as burning coal, oil and gas produces carbon dioxide - the most important greenhouse gas in the atmosphere - as well as nitrous oxide. Photo by markusspiske on Pixabay Deforestation The exploitation of forests has a major role in climate change. Trees help regulate the climate by absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere. When they are cut down, this positive effect is lost and the carbon stored in the trees is released into the atmosphere. Photo by Erlend Ekseth on Unsplash Intensive farming Another cause of global warming is intensive farming, not only with the ever-increasing livestock, but also with plant protection products and fertilizers. In fact, cattle and sheep produce large amounts of methane when digesting their food, while fertilizers produce nitrous oxide emissions. Photo by Bas Emmen on Unsplash Waste disposal Waste management methods like landfills and incineration emit greenhouse and toxic gases - including methane - that are released into the atmosphere, soil and waterways, contributing to the increase of the greenhouse effect. Photo by Dominik Vanyi on Unsplash Mining Modern life is highly dependent on the mining and metallurgical industry. Metals and minerals are the raw materials used in the construction, transportation and manufacturing of goods. From extraction to delivery, this market accounts for 5% of all greenhouse gas emissions. Photo by Holger Link on Unsplash Overconsumption Finally, overconsumption also plays a major role in climate change. In fact, it is responsible for the overexploitation of natural resources and emissions from international freight transport, which both contribute to global warming. Photo by Skeeze on Pixabay 05. Effects Global warming effects Here are some consequences that are documented in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Special Report on Global Warming Photo by Skeeze on Pixabay 1. On biodiversity The increase of temperatures and the climate upheavals disturb the ecosystems, modify the conditions and cycles of plant reproduction. The scarcity of resources and climate change are changing life habits and migratory cycles of animals. We are already witnessing the disappearance of many species - including endemic species - or, conversely, the intrusion of invasive species that threaten crops and other animals. Global warming therefore impacts biodiversity. It is the balance of biodiversity that is modified and threatened. According to the IPCC, a average rise might put 20-30% of species at risk of extinction. If the planet warms by more than 2°C, most ecosystems will struggle. 2. On oceans Because of global warming, permafrost and ice are melting massively at the poles, increasing the sea level at a rate never known before. In a century, the increase reached 18 cm including 6 cm in the last 20 years. The worst case scenario is a rise of up to 1m by 2100. The acidification of the oceans is also of great concern. In fact, the large amount of CO2 captured by the oceans makes them more acidic, arousing serious questions about the adaptability of seashells or coral reefs. 3. On humans Human beings are not spared by these upheavals. Climate change is affecting the global economy. It is already shaking up social, health and geopolitical balances in many parts of the world. The scarcity of resources like food and energy gives rise to new conflicts. Rising sea levels and floods are causing population migration. Small island states are in the front line. The estimated number of climate refugees by 2050 is 250 million people. 4. On the weather For decades now, meteorologists and climatologists around the world have been watching the effects of global warming on the weather phenomena. And the impact is huge more droughts and heatwaves, more precipitations, more natural disasters like floods, hurricanes, storms and wildfires, frost-free season, etc. 06. Prevention Global warming prevention Good news - there are ways to reduce global warming. But how to react to climate change? What solutions to consider? 1. Renewable energies The first way to prevent climate change is to move away from fossil fuels. What are the alternatives? Renewable energies like solar, wind, biomass and geothermal. 2. Energy & water efficiency Producing clean energy is essential, but reducing our consumption of energy and water by using more efficient devices LED light bulbs, innovative shower systems is less costly and equally important. 3. Sustainable transportation Promoting public transportation, carpooling, but also electric and hydrogen mobility, can definitely help reduce CO2 emissions and thus fight global warming. 4. Sustainable infrastructure In order to reduce the CO2 emissions from buildings - caused by heating, air conditioning, hot water or lighting - it is necessary both to build new low energy buildings, and to renovate the existing constructions. 5. Sustainable agriculture & forest management Encouraging better use of natural resources, stopping massive deforestation as well as making agriculture greener and more efficient should also be a priority. 6. Responsible consumption & recycling Adopting responsible consumption habits is crucial, be it regarding food particularly meat, clothing, cosmetics or cleaning products. Last but not least, recycling is an absolute necessity for dealing with waste. A challenge, 1000 Solutionsto change the world A label focused on both the environment and profitability. We’ll show you how to sneak right through, or kill everyone and pick the area clean of all items of interest. If you’re looking for the location and combination to the safe, we have that as well. Chapter 4 Bill’s Town – Safe Location, How to Kill the Bloater This is definitely one of our favorite chapters of the entire game. It features a lot of exciting combat, as well as some of the game’s best dialog. We’ll show you how to find and crack the safe, as well as where to pick up the bow, and Tools Level 1 so you can upgrade your weapons. Finally, if you’re struggling with the Bloater, we have you covered there as well. Chapter 5 Pittsburgh – All Tools, Safe Combination, Kill the Bloater Expect that this chapter will likely be the longest of the game, and it is filled with combat from end to end. There is a lot to do, including upgrading to Tools Level 2, opening Shiv Doors, locating and finding the combination to safes and even another one of those pesky Bloaters. We will guide you through it all, including where to find the keycard and how to start the generator. Chapter 6 The Suburbs – All Tools, Weapons, Safe Combination and Location This chapter isn’t overly long, but it does feature a fair amount of combat and even some good scavenging. We’ll show you how to get through the sewers, including how to find the Shorty and Tools Level 3. When you’re out, we’ve got the location and combination for the last safe in the game, as well as a very well hidden Training Manual. We’ll even show you how to kill the sniper. Chapter 7 Tommy’s Dam – Pick up the El Diablo and Training Manual As far as we know, this is the only major chapter that doesn’t have Infected, but it does have plenty of bad guys just the same. We’ll show you where to get the El Diablo twice, as well as where to find the chapter’s Training Manuals, and even Tools Level 3 if you missed it back in The Suburbs. Finally, we’ll walk you through saving Ellie after she steals a horse. Chapter 8 The University – How to Kill the Bloater, Escape the University This chapter doesn’t feature a crazy amount of combat, but it is some pretty intense fighting when it happens. Our walkthrough will show you the only Shiv Door there is to find, as well as where you can pick up the Flamethrower. With that in hand, we’ll then guide you to how you can kill the Bloater in the dorm rooms, and escape the Hunters to complete the chapter. Chapter 9 Lakeside Resort – How to Beat the David Boss Fight The Last of Us Remastered really only has one boss fight, but it’s an intense battle that can leave your heart pounding. Our guide will show you how you can track and hunt the deer, as well as fend off the waves of Infected afterward. When you are betrayed by your new friends, we’ll show you how to win the boss fight against David. Chapter 10 Bus Depot – How to Kill the Bloaters and Survive the Tunnel The first part of this chapter is one of the most laid back in the game, while the second portion will test your nerves with no less than three Bloaters. Our guide will get you ready for the tunnel, then show you how to take out every single Runner, Clicker and Bloater. We also show you the location of the chapter’s only Training Manual, which is one you’re likely to walk right past without our help. Chapter 11 The Firefly Lab – Reach the Operating Room to Save Ellie At this point the game is winding down, but you still have to survive some of the most deadly enemies of the entire campaign. Our guide will show you how to kill all the Fireflies, as well as get your hands on the Assault Rifle. When you make your way to the top floor, we’ll show you the chapter’s only Shiv Door, then guide you through saving Ellie from a deadly surgical procedure. Chapter 12 Jackson – Game Ending and Comic Location The final chapter of the game sees players return to play as Ellie, although there really isn’t much to do. This one is all about tying off the story, as well as finding the final collectible of the game. You don’t need our help to beat this one, but you might need a hint when it comes to finding the Singularity Comic location. The Last of Us Remastered – All Safe Locations and Combinations In part one of our extras and collectibles guide, we’re going to show you the location of all four safes in the game, as well as where to find the combinations to open them. Safes won’t unlock any trophies for you, but they will give you four Artifacts, as well as a batch of other goodies that will serve you well throughout the game. The Last of Us Remastered – All Comic Book Locations and Endure and Survive This is a game known for its collectibles, and our goal is to help you find every single one of them. We thought that we’d start off small, focusing on something simple like the Comic locations and the Endure and Survive trophy that comes with finding them all. Home Gaming News Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann Says There is 'No One Solution' to Crunch Naughty Dog co-presidents Neil Druckmann and Evan Wells discuss the studio’s battle with crunch culture, rejecting a 'silver bullet' solution. Crunch-time is practically the industry standard in game development. It’s a problem that doesn’t seem to go away, no matter how much attention it gets. Last year reports emerged that Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us 2 saw an intense crunch period despite its delayed release. Naughty Dog's co-president Neil Druckmann commented on the issues during one recent interview. However, he acknledged the problem but rejected the notion of a simple solution. Druckmann and and fellow co-president Evan Wells made ther remaks during an interview with Ben Reeves from Game Informer. The conversation covered a range of topics before eventually landing on the question of crunch time. Wells and Druckmann discussed various steps the studio is taking. These included taking on additional management to ensure current Naughty Dog projects are progressing smoothly. The studio is also working on creating more opportunities for employee feedback. Druckmann also explained that Naughty Dog’s leadership is also working harder to watch how employees handle stress and the workload. Reeves then asked about unionization, an often-suggested answer to the problem of AAA crunch time. Wells and Druckmann largely dismissed the idea, expressing skepticism of unionization as a solution. As Druckmann explained, Naughty Dog has attempted in the past to create policies that prevented crunch. However, he argued these sorts of companywide changes inevitably lead to unforeseen complications. Druckmann gave the example of Naughty Dog not letting developers work on Sundays, only for staff to complain that it disrupts their established schedules. He argued that situations like that are why Naughty Dog can’t just end crunch with a single policy change. “We find that there is no one solution that fits everybody,” Says Druckmann. “Everybody has a unique situation we might need to address.” Responses to Wells’ and Druckmann’s statements have seen mixed reactions. Some, like Fanbyte contributor Kenneth Shepard, criticized the answers as “wishy-washy.” Shepard also rejected a claim from Wells that Naughty Dog could not simply implement a 40-hour workweek, pointing out that it is standard practice in many other industries. However, others, such as Naughty Dog environmental artist Anthony Vaccaro pushed back, defending the company’s efforts at reducung Naughty Dog's overreliance on crunch time. Regardless, crunch culture has been a real issue with AAA developers for some time. Ubisoft, BioWare, Rockstar, and CD Project Red have faced similar criticisms for relying on crunch time to hit unrealistic deadlines. It seems only time will tell if Naughty Dog produces real solutions to the rampant overwork of game developers. What Was the "Final Solution"? The Nazi "Final Solution to the Jewish Question" "Endlösung der Judenfrage" was the deliberate and systematic mass murder of European Jews. It was the last stage of the Holocaust and took place from 1941 to 1945. Though many Jews were killed before the "Final Solution" began, the vast majority of Jewish victims were murdered during this period. It is not known when the leaders of Nazi Germany definitively decided to implement the "Final Solution." What is clear, however, is that the “Final Solution” was the culmination of a decade of increasingly severe discriminatory, anti-Jewish measures implemented by the Nazis. Today, the "Final Solution" is used as a synonym for the genocide of Europe’s Jews. Anti-Jewish Policy Escalates Under the rule of Adolf Hitler, the persecution and segregation of Jews was implemented in stages. After the Nazi Party achieved power in Germany in 1933, its state-sponsored racism led to anti-Jewish legislation, economic boycotts, and the violence of the Kristallnacht "Night of Broken Glass" pogroms, all of which aimed to systematically isolate Jews from society and drive them out of the country. After the September 1939 German invasion of Poland the beginning of World War II, anti-Jewish policy escalated to the imprisonment and eventual murder of European Jewry. The Nazis first established ghettos enclosed areas designed to isolate and control the Jews in the Generalgouvernement a territory in central and eastern Poland overseen by a German civilian government and the Warthegau an area of western Poland annexed to Germany. Polish and western European Jews were deported to these ghettos where they lived in overcrowded and unsanitary conditions with inadequate food. Massive Killing Operations Begin After the June 1941 German invasion of the Soviet Union, SS and police units acting as mobile killing units began massive killing operations aimed at entire Jewish communities. By autumn 1941, the SS and police introduced mobile gas vans. These paneled trucks had exhaust pipes reconfigured to pump poisonous carbon monoxide gas into sealed spaces, killing those locked within. They were designed to complement ongoing shooting operations. On July 17, 1941, four weeks after the invasion of the Soviet Union, Hitler tasked SS chief Heinrich Himmler with responsibility for all security matters in the occupied Soviet Union. Hitler gave Himmler broad authority to physically eliminate any perceived threats to permanent German rule. Two weeks later, on July 31, 1941, Nazi leader Hermann Goering authorized SS General Reinhard Heydrich to make preparations for the implementation of a "complete solution of the Jewish question." Killing Centers In the autumn of 1941, SS chief Heinrich Himmler assigned German General Odilo Globocnik SS and police leader for the Lublin District with the implementation of a plan to systematically murder the Jews of the Generalgouvernement. The code name Operation Reinhard was eventually given to this plan, named after Heydrich who was assassinated by Czech partisans in May 1942. As part of Operation Reinhard, Nazi leaders established three killing centers in Poland—Belzec, Sobibor, and Treblinka—with the sole purpose of the mass murder of Jews. The Majdanek camp served from time to time as a killing site for Jews residing in the Generalgouvernement. In its gas chambers, the SS killed tens of thousands of Jews, primarily forced laborers too weak to work. The SS and police killed at least 167,000 Jews, as well as approximately 4,300 Roma Gypsies, in gas vans at the Chelmno killing center about thirty miles northwest of Łódź. In the spring of 1942, Himmler designated Auschwitz II Auschwitz-Birkenau as a killing facility. SS authorities murdered approximately one million Jews from various European countries at Auschwitz-Birkenau. German SS and police murdered nearly 2,700,000 Jews in the killing centers either by asphyxiation with poison gas or by shooting. In its entirety, the "Final Solution" called for the murder of all European Jews by gassing, shooting, and other means. Six million Jewish men, women, and children were killed during the Holocaust—two-thirds of the Jews living in Europe before World War II. La grande quantité de conteneurs vous aidera à rester à couvert la plupart du temps, et vos ennemis sont globalement assez éloignés les uns des autres, tout du moins au début. You’ll get to a spot where you’ll leave your horses. Follow her and have a chat as you look at the view. Exit through the crack in the wall but before following Dina to the next area entirely, consider looting the nearby room for supplies. Supplies Crouch through the spare room to the right of the horses but the left of the huge hole in the wall with barbed wire. In the back is a locker with some ammo inside. Follow Dina crouch through the gap, and take the rope up top. She’ll ask you to sign the two of you in. Supplies The room on the right has a bong in it to the right of the sofa. Interact with it for some extra dialogue. There’s also some scraps you can later use to upgrade weapons on the filing cabinet. In the main room, check the desk drawer for ammo. Follow Dina and you’ll see an open notebook on the table where you can sign in. Abandoned Town Follow Dina again on horseback and you’ll reach the next town. You can stop and inspect all the buildings for supplies and collectibles. Supplies Supplements and scrap in the trailer. Supplements, scrap, ammo, trading card on the 2nd floor of the house ahead details below. An artifact in a blown out building details below. Explore the Infected Stores A bloody moose ahead is your clue that infected are nearby. Follow the trail of blood, leading into the window opening, to find your first one. Take cover and use hearing/camera rotation to get a visual on the Runner. It’ll be feasting so sneak up behind it and take it down. Supplies Approach the white door ahead but turn right, so your back is towards it. Ahead is a locked blue door. You can get inside it by going through the window and moving forward towards the trash. On the right is a window you can climb through to enter that bathroom. There, you’ll find ammo and several supplements in the sink. Then just exit through the blue door you can unlock it since you’re in the bathroom. Continue forward and open the white door by holding triangle. Follow the on-screen prompts to execute a quick throw and stab the enemy. Supplies On your right you’ll find some scraps on the table. Check the drawers, behind the cash register, for scrap. Keep going by moving to the right where Dina is and climbing through the window with the streak of blood underneath. You’ll reach a runner infected area. Use the cars for company cover. Take one down and Dina will take out the other. There are more runners inside the store. You’ll need to clear out that area. Tips Enter on the left side, by the dumpster. Take down that runner and then enter the store to take down the 2 remaining runners. Keep a bottle or brick in hand, use them as a quick throw attack if your cover is ever blown. Use your hearing often, this early on in the game it’s not as strong so you’ll see more and more clearly the closer you get. Once the room is clear follow Dina through the sizable gap in the wall leading to the postal truck. Walk up to the truck by Dina and interact with it to give Dina a boost to the top. Then take her hand to climb up yourself. Jump down from the truck and walk towards the Greenplace Market semi-truck. Hold circle to get into prone position to crawl under the truck and continue ahead. Be ready because an enemy lies ahead. Climb up to the top of the blue, truck tractor where the driver’s seat is located and then turn around and do a running jump to reach the white semi-trailer. Continue forward to the hole in the bricks leading to the next area. Supermarket Offices and Pharmacy When you drop down you’ll find yourself in a conference room. Health Kit Recipe Location Loot the room. One of the metal cabinet drawers has ammo and the cabinets under the TV stand have alcohol and some rags which allow you to unlock the Health Kit Recipe. Dina will move the cart blocking the door and the two of you will enter a Spore infected area. Immediately go left to loot the side room for supplies. When you’re ready, continue to the right and you’ll end up in a breakroom area with a door leading to a back office. Loot the kitchen area and lockers before slipping through the crevice ahead. Clickers in the Pharmacy Be ready to take down to clickers. Tips Use stealth to take down the Clickers. Approach slowly because if they can hear you, they’ll know your location. They’re blind otherwise. Despite being blind a Clicker’s scream can also help them detect your location so keep a safe distance until you’re ready to approach them from behind. Keep a bottle/brick in hand because you can use it to do a quick throw to stun and stab the Clickers. The Clickers and infected in general cannot detect your flashlight so feel free to keep it on. If the Clickers spot you consider dodging and running to get some distance. Dina will fire some shots too so you can let her take care of it or draw your gun and fire yourself. Molotov Cocktail Recipe Location Once they’re dead help Dina move the cabinet from the door by holding down triangle once you’re inside she’ll hand you a little present in the form of a Molotov Cocktail because she gets you. Loot this room as it’s full of supplies, including lots of supplements. Exit by climbing up the cabinet to the window above. Infected Super Market This next room has several runners and clickers. Tips Take out the Runners first. Keep in mind that the Runner screams can alert the Clickers but killing the Clickers, out in the open, may make the Runners spot you. Be mindful of the area. Molotov’s are very effective against infected but remember the sound of them crashing and burning will alert others. Clickers are most prone to running into the flames since they’re most drawn to noise. Walk to the exit and interact with the door. It’s locked so head to the right and pick up the rope. Throw it over the exposed vent and throw the rope over my aiming with L2 and throwing with R2. Follow Dina’s lead and jump and slide down to head for your horses and follow Dina on horseback again. At one point you lose Dina but keep moving forward and eventually you’ll hear Dina calling for you. Follow her voice and keep going. You’ll take shelter from the storm in a library. Explore the Library The copy center is locked but you can break the glass window by using a brick, a bottle, or a melee attack. Jump through the window and move to the next door. Loot the room for scraps. When you’re ready, continue to the next door. You’ll automatically pick up the collectible hanging on the corkboard. Return to the children’s library, Dina will remark that there’s something underground. Keep walking until you’re in the tiny hallway between the copy center and the children’s library. Turn to the bookshelf and move it with Dina’s help. Continue downstairs and see what Eugene has been hiding. A When the US explorer and academic Hiram Bingham arrived in South America in 1911, he was ready for what was to be the greatest achievement of his life the exploration of the remote hinterland to the west of Cusco, the old capital of the Inca empire in the Andes mountains of Peru. His goal was to locate the remains of a city called Vitcos, the last capital of the Inca civilisation. Cusco lies on a high plateau at an elevation of more than 3,000 metres, and Bingham’s plan was to descend from this plateau along the valley of the Urubamba river, which takes a circuitous route down to the Amazon and passes through an area of dramatic canyons and mountain ranges. B When Bingham and his team set off down the Urubamba in late July, they had an advantage over travellers who had preceded them a track had recently been blasted down the valley canyon to enable rubber to be brought up by mules from the jungle. Almost all previous travellers had left the river at Ollantaytambo and taken a high pass across the mountains to rejoin the river lower down, thereby cutting a substantial corner, but also therefore never passing through the area around Machu Picchu. C On 24 July they were a few days into their descent of the valley. The day began slowly, with Bingham trying to arrange sufficient mules for the next stage of the trek. His companions showed no interest in accompanying him up the nearby hill to see some ruins that a local farmer, Melchor Arteaga, had told them about the night before. The morning was dull and damp, and also seems to have been less than keen on the prospect of climbing the hill. In his book Lost City of the Incas, he relates that he made the ascent without having the least expectation that he would find anything at the top. DBingham writes about the approach in vivid style in his book. First, as he climbs up the hill, he describes the ever-present possibility of deadly snakes, capable of making considerable springs when in pursuit of their prey’; not that he sees any. Then there’s a sense of mounting discovery as he comes across great sweeps of terraces, then a mausoleum, followed by monumental staircases and, finally, the grand ceremonial buildings of Machu Picchu. 'It seemed like an unbelievable dream the sight held me spellbound ’, he wrote. E We should remember, however, that Lost City of the Incas is a work of hindsight, not written until 1948, many years after his journey. His journal entries of the time reveal a much more gradual appreciation of his achievement. He spent the afternoon at the ruins noting down the dimensions of some of the buildings, then descended and rejoined his companions, to whom he seems to have said little about his discovery. At this stage, didn’t realise the extent or the importance of the site, nor did he realise what use he could make of the discovery. F However, soon after returning it occurred to him that he could make a name for himself from this discovery. When he came to write the National Geographic magazine article that broke the story to the world in April 1913, he knew he had to produce a big idea. He wondered whether it could have been the birthplace of the very first Inca, Manco the Great, and whether it could also have been what chroniclers described as the last city of the Incas’. This term refers to Vilcabamba the settlement where the Incas had fled from Spanish invaders in the 1530s. Bingham made desperate attempts to prove this belief for nearly 40 years. Sadly, his vision of the site as both the beginning and end of the Inca civilisation, while a magnificent one, is inaccurate. We now know, that Vilcabamba actually lies 65 kilometres away in the depths of the jungle. G One question that has perplexed visitors, historians and archaeologists alike ever since Bingham, is why the site seems to have been abandoned before the Spanish Conquest. There are no references to it by any of the Spanish chroniclers - and if they had known of its existence so close to Cusco they would certainly have come in search of gold. An idea which has gained wide acceptance over the past few years is that was a , a country estate built by an Inca emperor to escape the cold winters of Cusco, where the elite could enjoy monumental architecture and spectacular views. Furthermore, the particular architecture of Machu Picchu suggests that it was constructed at the time of the greatest of all the Incas, the emperor Pachacuti 1438-71. By custom, Pachacuti’s descendants built other similar estates for their own use, and so Machu Picchu would have been abandoned after his death, some 50 years before the Spanish Conquest. - Great thanks to volunteer Lan Nguyen has contributed these explanations and question markings.
